Student Research Award Guidelines
Students from all disciplines are eligible, with preference being given to proposals exhibiting the following characteristics:
- Research projects with direct relevance to the current situation of the European Union, including its member states;
- Joint student-faculty proposals;
- Proposals from students who will continue to be enrolled in the Claremont Colleges during academic year 2008-2009;
- Proposals which involve field work in Europe;
- Proposals which will result in public presentations (e.g. in conferences, publications, etc.);
- Proposals demonstrating outside funding that will complement financial support received from the Center.
Grants for individual applications will normally not exceed $1000.00, although somewhat larger amounts are possible for joint applications. Grant funding may not be used to pay for purchases of equipment or salary expenses.
Application Procedure
Applicants should submit an application form, a 2-3 page project proposal, a letter of support from a faculty member prepared to mentor the project, and a detailed budget. Application forms can be obtained from the Center or click here for a PDF version.
