Model European Union

The West Coast Model European Union is an annual simulation of a European Council Summit, bringing together undergraduate students from across the United States. Students, in teams of two, play the roles of representatives of European Union Member State delegations, and also the European Commission. Participants negotiate two issues of concern for the Presidency. The next Model European Union will take place at the University of Washington: Friday, February 23 and Saturday, February 24, 2018.

The EU Center sponsors one or two teams of students to participate in the event. This includes registration, travel, hotel and meals. Students can be from any of the 5C’s. Selected participants begin meeting in October to work on their presentation skills, researching the two topics under discussion, and getting to know their teammates. Typically students meet for one hour per week.
