Jacob Dayan – “A Regional and Global Security Assessment: The Israeli Perspective”

The Consul General of Israel in Los Angeles, Mr. Jacob Dayan, who previously served as Chief of Staff to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Policy Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, will provide a broad overview of Israeli foreign policy in the Middle East, including attention to Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran.
Before assuming his post in Los Angeles, Mr. Dayan was selected to prepare a strategic plan on the feasibility of opening negotiations with Syria. Prior to this he served as Chief of Staff to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Livni and former Minister of Foreign Affairs Silvan Shalom. Prior to that, he was the Policy Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, where he was responsible for the Minister’s work on US, Asia, East Europe, and Middle East affairs.
